Arlene Kremenik

1960 ~ 2016

Arlene Susan Kremenik, beloved wife of Erich Kremenik and mother to Jessica and Andrea Kremenik passed away peacefully at St. Mike’s Palliative after bravely battling a lengthy illness, on February 29, 2016.

Born June 20, 1960 to Alexander and Rose Karpiuk, Arlene grew up in New Dayton, AB with three sisters and two brothers. In her youth and beyond she excelled in sports such as baseball, curling and bowling. After graduating from Warner High School in 1978 Arlene moved to Lethbridge, AB where she met and married Erich in 1984. Their family grew with the addition of two daughters while she worked part-time as a receptionist. She enjoyed spending most of her time in the company of family and friends, playing cards, baking, cooking and dancing the night away to her favorite local group the Chevelles.

Arlene is survived by her husband Erich Kremenik, daughters Jessica and Andrea Kremenik. Sisters, Sharon(Bryan) Oliver, Shirley(Larry) Sera, Janice(Dave) Racz and her brothers, Rick(Bonnie)Karpiuk and James Karpiuk. She will also be deeply missed by special friends, Barb Snyder, Darlene Aubin and Peter John Scott along with all of the Kremenik in-laws and both families nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Alex Karpiuk, who we know will greet her with open arms.

Arlene was born into a big family in a small town and it is due to her hometown and family that we attribute her outstanding strength of character and her quick sense of humour. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a fun-loving, compassionate, creative, organized and hardworking wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend- who always had the ability to make connections with people easily.

Our family would like to extend a special thank-you to the St. Mike’s Palliative team for their wonderful care and support and in lieu of gifts/flowers, we ask that you donate to any of the following: the Canadian Cancer Society, Jack Ady Cancer Centre, St. Mike’s Palliative Care Centre.

A private service will be held for family and close friends as was Arlene's request.

Service Date: March 10, 2016
