Josephine Kondas

1936 ~ 2016

Mrs. Josephine Kondas of Lethbridge, passed away at the Park Meadows Lodge on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the age of 80 years old.

Josephine was born in Enchant, Alberta to Samuel & Mary Virostek. She was raised in the Enchant Area, then moved to Lethbridge to work and married Steve Kondas on April 27, 1957. They resided in Lethbridge briefly before settling down to raise their children in Coaldale, AB.

She is survived by her children Steven (Dorine) Kondas of Stettler, AB, Terry (Linda) Kondas of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, Sharlene Kondas of Lethbridge, AB, Gregory (Karin) Kondas of Victoria, BC; grandchildren Ashley (Alaa) Abdel Khaliq of Lethbridge, AB, Adam Payne of Pincher Creek, AB, Kassandra Kondas of Victoria, BC, Janine Kondas of Victoria, BC, Hannah Kondas of Stettler, AB, Carrie Creaser of Edmonton, AB; great-grandchildren Cindy and Emma Abdel Khaliq of Lethbridge, AB; brothers Donald (Donna) Virostek of Lethbridge, AB, Wayne (Joan) Virostek of Warner, AB; sisters-in-law Shirley (George) Virostek of Enchant, AB, Diane Virostek of Lethbridge, AB, Linda Virostek of Enchant, AB, Margaret Kondas of Barnwell, AB; brother-in-law Larry Haller of Enchant, AB.

Josephine was predeceased by her loving husband Steve Kondas on November 19, 2000; her parents and siblings Helen, Mary, Samuel, George, Joseph, Betty, Michael, Verne, Lawrence, and Theresa.

Vigil Rites will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 St. S., Lethbridge, AB, led by Father Ian Gagne.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 1, 2016 at ST. AMBROSE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1613 23 Ave., Coaldale, AB, with father Ian Gagne, celebrant.
