ALAN KING of Lethbridge passed away at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Friday, March 16th, 2007 at the age of 86 years after a courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by four sons Alan Jr., Paul (Agnes) of Victoria, B.C.; Anthony of Surrey, B.C.; Peter (Andrea) of Taber, AB and their mother Rita (Ray) Hall; grandchildren Helen, Mark, Sarah, Jenae; great-grandchildren Jordie and Christopher and brother Ken of Saskatoon, SK. He is pre-deceased by his parents; brothers George and Wilfred; sister Mary Anne; daughter Susan; son-in-law Gordon; granddaughter Sherry Lynn and great-grandson Jesse.

Alan was born in England and served in the Second World War with the Royal Air Force from 1939 to 1945. He immigrated to Canada in 1972 and permanently resided in Claresholm, AB, before moving to Lethbridge. He was a building contractor by trade and was responsible for the construction of the present Legion building in Claresholm. He was befriended by many over the years and a kind person to many. He was active in the Legion and very helpful in their affairs. Of great interest was his hobby of painting pictures, several of which are displayed in The Nanton Lancaster Society Air Museum and other locations in Lethbridge.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St. South, Lethbridge, AB, with Canon Allan McCuaig officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 - 10 Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 9Z9.
