22/2/1989 - to - 2/8/2010

JESSICA DAWN KERBER, beloved daughter of Christine and Jim Kerber; best friend and sister to Alecia, passed away at the Calgary Foothills Hospital on Monday, August 2, 2010 at the age of 21 years.

Jessica will forever be remembered by Darren Maasakkers who she took hostage as her second father, her grandmothers Genevieve Larson and Randi (Jim) Shaw; grandfather Walter Kerber; great-grandfather Henning Jensen; her favorite Aunty Kathy (Lyle) Bennett; her angel on earth Lyle Kindrat ""Uncle Rat""; uncle Michael Kindrat; aunties, Maureen Hanna, Teresa Kindrat, Pia (Neil) Kerber, Debbie (Shane) Hoopfer; favorite cousin Dennis (Dawn) Bennett; cousins John (Rae) Bennett, Jennifer (Jade) Kindrat, Ryan Kindrat and Kali Kindrat. Jessica will also be remembered by the extra mothers she gathered during her life journey Allison Nelder, Gail Vandebeek and Kathy Plausteiner. As well as so many friends and extended families, and her ""Charger"" teammates.

Jessica was born on February 22, 1989 in Lethbridge, Alberta. Jessica was born with sunshine in her eyes. She had a glow about her that never dimmed her entire life. She was mischievous and fun, playful and soulful. Jessica could melt butter with her smile.

Jessica loved to laugh and right up until her last minute on this earth...Jessica was laughing. Jessica played Rep soccer for the Chargers for many years and she loved, loved, loved soccer; according to her it was the best sport in the world.

Lots of little girls think they are princesses but Jessica knew she was and she would never hesitate to let you know that.

Jessica spent all of her school years in Lethbridge and graduated from Catholic Central High School in 2007. God bless all of the teachers who taught this spirited girl.

Jessica fought for her life when she suffered a massive stroke in January 2009. At the Foothills Hospital they nicknamed her the ""Miracle Stroke Girl"". She defied all of the odds to remain on this earth. In the last year and a half Jessica showed us miracles every day. Her strength, courage and bravery will be surpassed by no one. She inspired all who met her.

After her courageous battle this past year and a half, Jessica was faced with another, this time Jessica was just too tired and she surrendered peacefully surrounded by her family at 7:19 pm. She decided it was time for us to make our own miracles.

To celebrate Jessica's Life, please join the family at 3:00 pm, on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 20 Rocky Mountain Blvd. W., Lethbridge, with Pastor Jason Anderson, officiating.

Jessica was a huge advocate for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and she would say ""put your money where your heart is!"" and so, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, #207, 542 - 7 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1J 2H1.
