Florence Isaac

Official Obituary of

13/10/1928 - to - 12/12/2010

FLORENCE ISAAC of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Jack Isaac, passed away with her family by her side on December 12, 2010 at the age of 82 years.

Florence was the third baby girl born to Lawrence and Florence Magnusson. She was raised on the family homestead near Elk Point, Alberta and later on the family's farm near Barrie, Ontario. After meeting and marrying Jack, the couple had their first child, Betty, and relocated to Calgary, where a second child, Bill, was added to their family. Jack's military career again moved the couple, this time to Coaldale, where a third child, Jack, was born. The couple lived there for two years before moving to Lethbridge and adding the twins, Linda and Lyndon, to the family. Lethbridge remained their home.

Over the years Jack and Florence made many life-long friends at the Church of the Nazarene, where they were members for more than 50 years. After Jack's passing in 1994, Florence continued to nurture her existing friendships, as well as make new ones.

Although Mom was quiet, the abundance of home-cooked treats, perfectly prepared Christmas dinners, knitted and sewed clothing, and easy laughter always made her family know they were loved. Among Florence's other passions were all the family pets and time spent outdoors, whether it was in her garden, camping, or just taking a day-trip to Waterton.

Florence is survived by her two daughters, Betty (Bob) Yeider, Linda (Keith) Arnold, sons Bill (Darlene) Isaac, Jack (Melanie) Isaac and Lyndon (Lenore) Isaac. She also leaves behind her precious grandchildren; Tammie, Robert, Becky, Billy, Julie, Cooper, Chris, Kelly and Angie, as well as great grandchildren; Cambria, James, John, Scarlett and Will. Florence also has two surviving brothers; Gary and Gerald Magnusson, in Ontario.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 14th, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Edwin Rossiter, officiating.

A private family graveside service will follow.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Southern Alberta Branch, 6007 1A Street SW, Calgary, AB T2H 0G5.

The family would like to extend thanks to Maddison and Carmel, nurses in unit 4B of CRH, her homecare nurses, and the nurses at Legacy Lodge. Your compassion was touching and appreciated.
