MARY ANN HULIT of Milk River passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at the age of 77 years.

Beloved wife of Ron Hulit, she also leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Joan (Bruce) Digney and her grandson Evan, her daughter Sheila Hempel, her son Thomas Hulit and her nephew/son Neil (Omnia) Anderson and their children Alexander, Lauren and James. She is survived by her sister Erica (Sherman) Wetmore and her brothers Isaac Schmidt and John Schmidt. She was predeceased by her sisters Lena Schmidt and Jessie Anderson and by her brothers Nicolai Schmidt and Henry Schmidt, as well as by her parents Nicolas and Justina Schmidt.

Mary grew up on the family farm in Chinook, Alberta. She obtained her RN diploma in
Saskatoon, SK and worked as a stewardess with Trans Canada Airlines, flying out of Montreal, for several years in the 50s. Following this she worked as a nurse in Vancouver, BC, Houston, TX, and Penticton, BC, before moving to Edmonton to obtain her Bachelor of Nursing degree. After graduation, she relocated to Taber and became the Public Health Nurse there. Mary married Ron in 1961 and worked in the Milk River Hospital before their family started to arrive.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00pm and 9:00pm, on Monday, September 8, 2008, at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4th St., S., Lethbridge, AB.

A Celebration of Mary's life will be held at 2:00pm, on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at ST. PETER'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURH, 309 Main St., N., Milk River, AB, with Reverend Leroy Angle officiating.

The interment will be held at 2:00pm, on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at Chinook Cemetery, in Chinook, AB, for those who will be attending you may meet at the Chinook Community Hall at 1:30 pm, before proceeding to the Cemetery.
