Official Obituary of

15/1/1930 - to - 10/1/2010

MR. ROSS A. HOSACK of Lethbridge, beloved husband to Mrs. Joyce Hosack passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the age of 79 years.

Ross was born in Edmonton on January 15, 1930 and was raised there until he graduated from Eastwood High School. After he had graduated he worked with his parents in operating a dry cleaners in Barrhead for 16 years. He was married to his lifelong love and partner Joyce Perrich in Barrhead in July of 1951. He was very active in the Kinsmen in Barrhead and the Foresters in Lethbridge had had many long term friends. In 1965 Ross attended NAIT in Edmonton for his chosen profession as a Denturist, his being the first graduating class. He achieved the Queen Elizabeth Award for having the highest marks in his class. In 1968 he purchased Dietrich Denture Clinic in Lethbridge and practiced until 1990 when he retired. His son Allen has since taken over the business and now operates Hosack Denture Clinic. After retirement Ross and Joyce travelled extensively with his many friends, spending many winters in the Phoenix area as well as travelling to Australia and other warm locations. Ross enjoyed junior hockey and had attended many memorial cups over the years and was a long time avid supporter of the Lethbridge Hurricanes, rarely missing a game. He loved the outdoors and the activities that it presented: family camping trips, hunting and fishing. Ross was a committed family man who provided guidance and support along with free advice whenever requested.

Ross leaves to morn his wife Joyce of 59 years. His children Maureen (Neil) Covey of Sammamish, Washington, Barrie (Nancy) Hosack of Lethbridge, Darlene (Brian) Winch of Calgary, and Allen (Bev) Hosack of Lethbridge; grandchildren Jasmine, Candace, Leanne, Jason, Brandon, Tyler, Alexandra, Travis and Desirae; brother Ralph (Ruth Ann) of Stoney Plain, AB; sister Lois Tally of Westlock; sisters-in-law Lena Hosack of Edmonton and Audrey Hosack of Stoney Plain; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his good buddy Matt Schebel. He was predeceased by his mother Emily and father Allen and his brothers Ernie and George.

A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB with Reverend Larry D. Hankinson, officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Box 2211, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4K7 or a charity of your choice.
