Sam Hofer

Official Obituary of

26/6/1966 - to - 29/4/2019

In loving memory of my beloved husband, a father of my children Samuel Michael Hofer, passed away peacefully at his home in the arms of Jesus with his family by his side after a short time battling stomach cancer, on Monday, April 29, 2019 at the age of 52 years.

Sam was born on June 26th, 1966 at Stirling, Alberta to Michael & Rebecca Hofer, the seventh of ten children.

Sam found the love of his life Sharon from Swift Current, SK. They got married in 1992, at Wolf Creek Colony, and had 6 beautiful children: Brittany, Danielle, Mervin, Braden and two deceased, Samantha and Sonya. Their love was inseparable ❤️. Throughout the past year while Sam was sick, we couldn’t be more thankful to his brother Andy for taking him to all his appointments.

Sam helped build East Raymond, also helped with the wiring in the buildings and even taught himself to lay some tiles, after a little while he was the tile man, he tiled many many houses. In 1996 they split from Wolf Creek and moved to East Raymond Colony. Sam was helper in the cow barn did the dairy work & ranch cows for 28 years, along with his Brother George. They couldn’t be apart, they both loved to work. He was a working man from dusk till dawn. His main saying was (das ist die gman) {this is the way of the colony}.

In the meantime, he was also a grain cart driver for a couple years, and on the baler too, man could he flip out those bales I tell ya, there was never a dull moment around Sam. His laughter cheered everyone right up. Sam was a person nothing was too much for him, he was literally a workaholic. He never left a job unfinished and worked till the very end!

Sam leaves behind his wife Sharon; two Daughters Brittany, Danielle; two sons Mervin, and Braden, Mother Rebecca of East Raymond; 5 brothers Herb (Ruth) Hofer, Darius (Matilda) Hofer, George (Susie) Hofer, Andy (Barbra) Hofer, Joe (Miriam) Hofer; three sisters (John) Annie Hofer of Red Deer AB, Richard (Ruth) Stahl of Grass Range MT, and Herman (Frieda) Decker of Kenaston SK. Also, father-in-law Peter (Annie); brothers-in-law Dan (Michelle) Irma AB, George (Emma), Josh and sister-in-laws Lana, Linda all of Swift Current SK, and Ruth (Gary) of Lost River. Also, many more cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Sam was predeceased by his two daughters Samantha, Sonya and his father Mike; brother Ben and nephew Joseph Hofer; aunts and uncles and dear cousin Lillian Stahl. Also, his dearest loving mother-in-law Annie P Hofer from (Swift Current, SK)

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the EAST RAYMOND COLONY. Interment to follow at the East Raymond Cemetery.
