Robert H. Hillmer 1924 ~ 2013

Mr. Robert Hillmer, of Lethbridge, formerly of Magrath passed away on Thursday November 28, 2013 at the age of 89 years.

Robert was born and raised in the farming community of Magrath. He worked as a Bus Driver, Truck Driver, Mechanic and Warehouse Foreman at Alberta Canning for many years before purchasing his parents' farm and beginning to grain farm and raise Red Poll cattle. He was an avid gardener and loved building things. Robert and Agnes were season ticket holders from 1974 until 2012 of the original Lethbridge Broncos, now the Lethbridge Hurricanes and rarely ever missed a game.

Robert is survived by his daughter Donna (Arnold) Warnock; son Thomas (Anne) Hillmer; grandchildren Candace (Peter) Dyck, Derek (Connie) Hillmer, Gavin (Krista) Warnock and Heidi (Greg) Lutz; great-grandchildren Emily and Stephanie Dyck and Luke and Anna Hillmer; sister Marie Gillett and Evelyn Hillmer (sister-in-law); brothers Norman (Barbara) Hillmer and Ervin (Carolynn) Hillmer; nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

Besides his loving wife Agnes, Robert was predeceased by his parents Harry &Nettie Hillmer; brothers Lawrence, Albert ""Bart"", Marvin, George; sisters Ella Brandvold, Florence Hillmer (infant) and infant daughter Patti.

Family and friends are invited to pay their final respects from 7:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS FUNERAL CHAPELS, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the MAGRATH UNITED CHURCH, 181W-1 Ave North, with Pastor Brian Amison, officiating. Interment will follow in the Magrath Cemetery.
