JULIUS ""JUNIOR"" GRUNINGER of Del Bonita, Alberta passed away peacefully on November 28, 2010 at the Raymond Hospital at the age of 86 years. Junior was born on January 1, 1924 at Magyar Polany, Hungary. His family immigrated to Alberta when he was just 3 years old and they chose Magrath as their hometown. Junior moved to Del Bonita in 1950 and that is where he lived until going into the hospital one week ago.

Junior is survived by brothers Albert (Shirley) Gruninger of Del Bonita, Phillip (Tilley) Gruninger of Raymond, Don (Carol) Gruninger of Magrath, Joe (Diane) Gruninger of Del Bonita, and Mike (Faye) Gruninger of Whiskey Gap, special nieces and nephew and their children; Marie (Gord) Card , Clay, Rhett and Janelle; Justin (Billie Jo) Gruninger, Tyson, Kasidy, Levi and Jaxon; and Shauna (Cam) Wakefield, Shelbi and Kyle. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Junior lived on the farm in Del Bonita for 60 years. He loved going to auction sales and visiting with all his auction buddies. Weekly trips to Lethbridge always involved extra time for visiting because Junior knew someone everywhere he went.

He loved going out to check the cows and see the new calves in the spring and just going for farmer drives. Family was always special. Junior lived with Albert and Shirley and their family for 40 years so their children and grandchildren were very special to him.

At Junior's request there will be a family service and burial at the Magrath Cemetery.
