MR. KENNETH GEORGE McINTYRE of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Laura Olive McIntyre, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the age of 93 years. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 68 years and his daughters and family. Born and raised on a farm near Prelate, Saskatchewan with 8 brothers and sisters, Dad developed a good work ethic. He learned how to overcome hardship with humor and the importance of caring for family first. Ken served in the Second World War, during which he met the love of his life, Laura. He worked at the John Deere warehouse, Lethbridge Regional Hospital, and then as a foreman at Lethbridge Iron Works. He will be remembered best for his sense of humour, his love of music, dancing, and especially his love of playing cards. Besides his loving wife Laura Olive McIntyre, Kenneth is survived by his daughters Janice (John) Van Eden and Brenda (Bruce) Jespersen, grandchildren; Carey (James) Van Eden, Paul (Monica) Van Eden, Kendra (Lee) Jespersen, and Krystan Jespersen, great-grandchildren; Willem, Alexandra, Audrey, Gwen, and Daija. He is also survived by his sister Muriel Johnston and brother Lewis McIntyre, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Kenneth was predeceased by his parents James and Helen McIntyre, and his beloved son Kenneth Grant McIntyre. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 1011 4th Avenue South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Deborah Lannon, officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Field of Honour. Flowers are gratefully declined. The LSCO was a second home to Ken and Laura and we are eternally grateful for their support over the years.
