MARGARETE (Gretel) GOEBELHARDT of Lethbridge, beloved wife of 62 years to Karl Heinz Goebelhardt passed away on March 11, 2012 at the age of 84 years.

She was born in Germany and moved to Canada in 1955 with her husband and two daughters. She loved her yard and always had fresh flowers in the house. Gretel enjoyed travelling to Hawaii and Germany many times over the years with her husband. She loved her fast cars in her younger years and in her later years she devoted her life to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her three infant sons.

Besides her loving husband Karl Heinz, Gretel leaves behind her daughters; Brigitte (Hermann) Berke, Donate (Robert) Hodgson, her son Gary (Misty) Goebelhardt, grandchildren; Matthew, Clinton, Joshua, and Sarah Berke, Jennie and Lindsay Marshalsay, John Hodgson, Karl, Steven, Nicole, Brittani, Tavia and Abigail Goebelhardt. She also leaves behind her sister Helene Linke of Germany.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday March 16, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610- 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Pastor Jason Anderson, officiating.

After the service there will be a gathering for family and friends at the German Canadian Club, 902 6th Street North, Lethbridge from 2:00 to 4:30 pm. Please stop by as you know how Gretel loved her visits with friends and family.
