8/12/1917 - to - 10/2/2011
The family of Peter Giduk regretfully announces his passing on Thursday, February 10, 2011. Peter was born, raised, and educated in the City of Lethbridge. During his youth, he worked for the CPR, and during the war years, he served in the military. For over 40 years, Peter worked for Advance Lumber.
He married Dorothy Withage in 1946 and they spent 50 wonderful years together. Dorothy passed away in November of 1996.
Peter took great pride in his family and home. He especially enjoyed home maintenance and gardening. For the last two years, he was very fortunate to live at St. Therese Villa in Lethbridge.
Peter had a very strong sense of commitment to his community and his church. He was very proud to serve as a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.
Peter is survived by his children Glen (Wendy) Giduk of Medicine Hat, Sharon (Rob) Armstrong of Maple Ridge, BC, and Walter (Corinne) Giduk of Edmonton. He is survived by four grandchildren Cameron (Holly) Armstrong, Colin (Lorraine) Armstrong, Brandi Bartlett, and Blair (Kristin) Giduk. In addition, Peter was recently blessed with the birth of 3 great-grandchildren Jaime Armstrong, Macey Armstrong, and Chace Giduk. Peter is also survived by his sister Ella Kruk of Winnipeg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peter's family would like to sincerely thank all of his caregivers from St. Therese Villa, his physicians, and Mrs. Ruth Bates RN.
A Private Funeral Service is being planned for spring or early summer.
