Mrs. Hilda Caroline Ganger of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Paul Ganger, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the age of 86 years.

Hilda was born on June 22, 1936 in McCrosson Twp, Ontario to Albert and Nancy Olson. Hilda spent her youth between Ontario and Alberta. She graduated from the Nursing program in Calgary and worked between Cardston, Pincher Creek and Lethbridge where she met the love of her life, Paul. They eventually married and settled in Lethbridge to raise their family.

Hilda leaves behind 6 daughters Anita “Tina” (Ken) Wilson, Norma Rattan, Barbra (Don) Ganger, Linda Keenan (Ron Holtz), Donna Ganger, Sharon (Larry) Austin and son in law Don Burla; 18 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; aunt Bonnie (Octave) DeSmet; Harold Olson, Esther Wenckowski, Georgina Steffler, Susan Riehl, Chris Olson; brothers and sisters as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Hilda has joined her love Paul; son Bill; daughter Dianne; sons in law Derek and Allan; parents Albert and Nancy; and her brothers, Johnny, David, Bruce and Rex Olson.

The Ganger family would like to express their appreciation to the management and staff at the Golden Acres Lodge care home. We would also like to express our thanks to the angels of 4B at the Chinook Regional Hospital for making Hilda’s final moments with us so special.

A Celebration of Hilda’s Life will take place at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610, 4 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta with Lisa Shimozawa, officiating.
