Elaine Frouws, of Lethbridge, AB passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.  Elaine was born on September 5, 1931 and grew up on a farm south of Lethbridge.  As a young girl, Elaine was athletic and enjoyed playing various school sports.     Elaine met her future husband, Jim Frouws through mutual friends, and they were married on May 1, 1954.  Elaine worked as a dental assistant, bank teller, and a customer accounts clerk for three major department stores, all while raising four young children.  She was also an active member of St. Augustine’s Anglican Church. 

The family transferred to Calgary in 1977 where Jim worked in the recreational vehicle business.  After Jim’s untimely death in 1990 and throughout her retirement, Elaine stayed an active member of her community and enjoyed walking with friends, singing with two local choirs, and doing volunteer work for local charities.

Elaine is survived by her children, Cindy (Hank), Connie (Rick), Cheryl (Dave), Allan (Rochelle) and wonderful grandchildren, Soloman and Brendan, her brother George Jarokosky (Rose) and their family.  She is predeceased by her husband Jim, and her parents, Michael and Ethel Jarokosky.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Michaels Health Centre in Lethbridge for their dedication and compassion.  A special thanks to the Occupational Therapists, Licensed Practical Nurses, Dr. Coma, and the grace and diligence of Dr. Garden.

Elaine will be laid to rest at a private family ceremony at Mountain View Cemetery in Lethbridge.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to St. Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge.
