Rita Freeman of Lethbridge, passed away at St. Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the age of 63 years after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She is survived by her daughters Lana (Keith) Seebeck, Connie (Gerald) Dedieu, and her son Danny (Melissa) Yanosik; as well as nine grandchildren Jacinda, Joey, Natasha, Sebastian, Alexandra, Callum, Nathan, Bethany and McKenna. She also leaves behind her sister Barb (Don Teed) Slawson, her brother-in-law Warren Asplund, her in-laws Rick and Cory Beres, her honourary sister Cheri Langhofer, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Rita is finally at peace and has gone to play Bingo with her father & mother Earl (May) Freeman and her sister Pat Asplund. She will be remembered fondly by many.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors & nursing staff at the Jack Ady Cancer Centre and St. Michael’s Covenant Health Centre, and a special thank you to Dr. Dionne Walsh.

Rita asked that her life be celebrated with family and friends sharing in a feast of Thanksgiving potluck dinner. Those attending are asked to bring their favourite salad or dessert for sharing.

A private family graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY, followed by a Public Celebration of Life from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the EAGLES HALL, 631 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge, Alberta.

Due to a severe allergy, the family requests that all of those in attendance help make this a scent free occasion. Please refrain from wearing perfumes and fragrances, as well, flowers are gratefully declined.
