RICHARD ""RICK"" WESLEY ERVIN, of Lethbridge AB, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Michael's Palliative Care Center on July 11, 2008, at the age of 61.
Rick Ervin is survived by his loving wife Martha, and two daughters Jennifer and Joelene, all from Lethbridge. Rick will also be amorously remembered by his brother Trent (Gina) Ervin, and their daughter Brittany, whom also reside in Lethbridge. Rick was predeceased by his parents Wesley James and Lillian Emily Ervin.
Rick was born on December 11, 1946 in Regina Sask. He spent his early childhood in Aneriod, Sask., later relocating with his family to Edmonton AB. It is here he graduated from Victoria Composite High School. Rick then met and married his wife Martha who have been together for over 40 years. Following this he went on to study at NAIT pursuing an education in photography.
Rick and Martha moved to Lethbridge in 1972 when Rick obtained employment as a photographer for the Lethbridge Herald. In April, 1981 Rick was blessed with the birth of his twin daughters.
Rick had a passion for anything that had to do with cars. Rick was a member of the Fifty 5-6-7 club, and had spent many hours restoring his 1957 Chevy Belair. Rick's love of cars also eventually led him to a career in car sales, and for the past several years he was employed at Bridge City Chrysler. He had the opportunity to meet many valued customers, all of which he referred to as friends. Rick also enjoyed spending his spare time with his close friends either at ""the garage"", or at Bridge County Raceway participating as a pit crew team member.
Rick also participated as a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Rick's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who helped support and care for Rick during this past year, including family, friends and healthcare staff.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 16th, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. South, Lethbridge, AB with Pastor John Moerman officiating. Graveside service to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish to may make memorial donations to the Chinook Regional Hospital Cancer Clinic, 960-19th St. S. Lethbridge, T1J 1W5.
