Beloved sister and auntie, EMMA NOEMI SCODELLARO passed away peacefully at Edith Cavell Care Centre on Monday, November 10, 2008 at the age of 83 years.

Emma was born on May 31, 1925 at the family homestead in Bellevue, AB. She attended the Maple Leaf School until age 16 when she enrolled in and completed grade 10 in Trail, BC. There she worked part-time at a shoemaker's shop. Soon afterwards Emma attended Garbett Business College in Lethbridge, later gaining employment firstly with the Blairmore Royal Bank ($60 per month), Mohawk Colleries (1944-45) and finally for the Federal Government (1946) acting as head of many departments in Calgary and Lethbridge where she retired in 1983.

Emma enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She crocheted many beautiful afghans, doilies and needlework, skills which she learned from her mother. Emma was very interested in sports and followed her favourite teams from the comfort of her home. She was a hard worker with strength, independence and dignity. Not having had a family of her own, her days were enriched by the close family ties with her sister, Doris and her children, Rick, Maxine and Darlene. Auntie Emma will be sadly missed and deeply loved and forever remembered in our hearts.

Emma is survived by her sisters Elsa Romano of Peter Borough, ON and Doris Sergo of Lethbridge, AB, brother Mario (Rose) Scodellaro of Cranbrook, BC, as well as her numerous nieces, nephews, their families and her many dear friends. She was predeceased by her father Giovanni (1960) her mother Libera (1967), her brothers, Primo, Duke and Edo and sister Vera.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Ave South, Lethbridge, AB T1K 0P4.
