With profound sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Sharon, our loving mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on May 8th, 2020.

Sharon was a dedicated mother and treasured her children. She especially loved her role as Grandma. She made friends everywhere she went despite having a shy demeanor. Sharon had a way of making people laugh and if you were having a bad day, she was the first to give a reassuring hug.

All who loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, wit, and undying love and caring for them.

Until her health conditions made it impossible, she loved to cook, kept an organized house, and was highly skilled with knitting needles. Gardening was also a passion. She spent hours upon hours canning anything that would fit in a jar, baking buckets of snickerdoodle cookies and machine sewing thick blue jean blankets to snuggle under.

Sharon loved Elvis Presley. Being exposed regularly to his music, having watched all his movies, and performances, we as her children can attest to knowing more about the love of her life than the Prime Minister.

She also loved horror flicks. Her latest indulgence was The Walking Dead on repeat. This series was made for her. 

She has left the legacy of her love and perseverance. The ways she touched our lives will remain, and we ask you to keep those memories alive by sharing them with us and with one another.

Sharon is survived by her children, Kimberly McKay, Jason Edwards; three grandchildren, Jordan (Jordan) Blom, Matthew McKay and Danielle Edwards-Shoroh .

She is also survived by her siblings, Wayne (Denise) Wennerstrom, Charlotte (Robert) Allers and Gary (Rosalyn) Wennerstrom and by a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Aletha Wennerstrom, and her sister Shirley Pryor.

She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts until we meet again.
