Douglas “Doug” Lewis Edwards of Lethbridge, passed away with his daughter by his side, on Sunday October 13, 2024, at the age of 68 years.

Doug leaves behind a legacy of determination, endurance, strength, love, and family. Doug leaves behind his daughter Amanda Edwards of Lethbridge and his greatest joy, his grandson Daxton; two brothers Rick (Naomi) and Ken; sister Joan (Chuck); special friend Josh Keen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In his years, Doug enjoyed working on restoring vehicles. He had a keen eye for perfection, was always a hard worker and could always be found fixing vehicles, or thinking he was fixing them. Doug really enjoyed his sports, so much so that if his Saskatchewan Roughriders were playing the Calgary Stampeders, it was a friendly fire between daughter and dad.  And oh, how he loved his Chicago Blackhawks, always cheering them on with a Ranier in his hand. His other joy was watching wrestling events with his daughter and her brother, it was always a smoker, and he truly looked forward to enjoying time with family.

Although Doug started out in High River, he moved to Lethbridge to be close to his daughter, and it was there he found himself becoming employed at Canadian Tire North. His coworkers there became his extended family, and he was always proud of them and always happy to help his customers.

Doug will be dearly missed by his daughter, family, friends, and work family at Canadian Tire. May all the good memories of Doug never be forgotten, and his laughter remembered by those blessed to hear it.

Amanda would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Spence and nurse Melissa from the ICU in Lethbridge for their compassionate, and caring moments that they spent with her during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at HONKERS NEST, (located beside Honkers Pub) 2806 5 Ave N, Lethbridge, AB. Please note that the open mic will start at 1:30 pm, so if you wish to share a story or tribute about Doug, please be there by 1:30 pm.
