Bambi Jo Sheryl ~ ‘Blue Bird’ ~ leaves us to join her sisters, Tiana and Jodi in their final journey.

Bambi was born on April 18, 1978 in Fort Macleod to Joe Eagle Tail Feathers and Bunnie (Zona) Merrick.  Bambi grew up on the Blood Reserve at Frank Eagle Tail Feather’s homestead.  She attended Stand Off Kindergarten and other schools on the Blood Reserve, until her third year.  Then she continued her education in Fort Macleod.  In 1988, her family moved to Regina, Saskatchewan, where she finished her education at Balfour Collegiate in 1995.

Bambi was a free spirit, always happy and helped others.  She loved to travel.  After her educational years she began working in the food industry.  She loved to cook and had various jobs as a cook.  In 2001, Bambi joined the Conklin Brothers Travelling Carnival and really started to travel.

Bambi’s ‘carni’ life brought her as far south as Miami, Florida and along the Eastern United States coast. While with Conklin, Bambi met the love of her life, Algeric Bamberg.  Together, Bambi and Al, along with their small family lived in Buffalo, New York; Columbia, South Carolina and finally Kalispell, Montana.  

Bambi loved travelling and she saw Times Square in New York City and Nashville, Tennessee, like her grandmother, Shirley (Eagle Speaker) Merrick. 

 Bambi’s gregarious hobo heart leaves to mourn her children, Tyle Day Chief, Lexx & Lily Bamberg; her siblings Kalibur Joseph, Kathleen Mary, Nolan and Myles Eagle Tail Feathers; stepsisters – Jennifer and Tracy Plaited Hair.  Bambi’s Aunts; Dawn Knight, Byrde Healy,      Wanda Weasel Head and Jennifer Rabbit, special Aunts included are Ellen Quesnelle, Charlotte Heavy Runner and Shirley Tall Man, Great Aunts; Memory & Shirley Merrick and Winona Techington.  Great Uncle: Ralph Merrick.  Her favorite Uncles; OV Merrick, Dwayne & Terry Eagle Speaker. Special Uncles; Ike Eagle Speaker & Barnabus Tall Man. Special cousins; Joyce, Bettina & Debbie Mountain Horse, Terry Jane Chaboyer, Lacey & Amber, Sherwyn Standing Alone, Jada May Small Legs and Janis Morning Bird.

Finally, Bambi leaves her Father, Joe Eagle Tail Feathers (Sherri), her Mother, Bunnie (Zona) Merrick and her tiny little companion, May.  The family apologizes if any names have been missed.

A Wake Service will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Joe Eagle Tailfeathers residence.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Joe Eagle Tailfeathers residence. Please be advised that COVID-19 protocols will be in place and will be strictly followed.
