CECILIA MAXINE DZIEDZIC passed away in Edmonton, Alberta on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at the age of 89 years.

Cecilia was born on May 3, 1919 in Travers, Alberta. At the age of 14 she left Travers for Coleman, Alberta where she worked as a housekeeper. She met her husband John Dziedzic at a dance in Coleman. They courted and were married in 1936 in Coleman. John worked in the coalmines in Coleman until they moved to Lethbridge in 1945. Cecilia spent much of her time working as a bookkeeper for a local hardware store. She lived in Lethbridge for most of her life except for a brief 3 year period in an assisted living home in Edmonton.

Cecilia is predeceased by her husband John who died in April 1984. She loved her family, cooking (and boy was she a good cook), golf and travel. She was able to travel to many parts of Europe, USA and Mexico.

Cecilia is survived by her sons Louis and John; daughters Linda Dziedzic and Faye Boer; daughters-in-law joan & Linda; son-in-laws Cordell Draayers and Raddek Grabowski; granddaughters Michelle Draayers, Deanna Howell, Paula Grabowsky and Kathy Dick; granddaughters-in-law Gina Ivie and Justina Sarna Ivie; great-grandsons Nathaneal, Anthony, Sebastian, Damian Draayers, Gregory Spence, Scott Howell, Brandon Dziedzic, Adrian Dziedzic, Stefan Grabowsky, Oliver and Luke Sarna Ivie, Hayden Ivie, Christopher Dick; great-granddaughters Veronica, Bernadette and Anastasia Draayers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Howell, Shyanne Dziedzic and Marissa Dziedzic and Phoebe Ivie.

Our mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother is very loved and will be missed.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00pm on Monday, April 27, 2009 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERIVEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge led by Cecilia's grandson-in-law Cordell Draayers.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at ST. MARTHA'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 355 Columbia Blvd West, Lethbridge, with Father Fernando Genogaling, celebrant. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
