Mrs. Margaret Dick of Coaldale, wife of the late Mr. John Dick, passed away at the Fairmont Extendicare in Lethbridge on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at the age of 96 years.

Margaret was born to Jacob and Margaret Funk on May 28, 1926 in Ravenscrag, Saskatchewan, the fifth of 8 children. This was the same year the family moved from Saskatchewan to a farm near Coaldale, Alberta by the Oldman River.

Margaret, at the age of 16, gave her life to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of 17, as a teenager. She became a member of the Coaldale Mennonite Brethren Church and sought to serve her heavenly father with her life from that time forward.

On May 23, 1948 Margaret married John Dick, settling on a farm in the Readymade District, just east of Coaldale. They were blessed with four adopted children Robert, Iris, Daniel and Marcie.

Margaret leaves her son Robert (Brian McKay) and Robert’s children Craig (Kara), Christine and Brendon (Lyndsey); as well as several great-grandchildren.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband John; daughter Iris Louise; son Daniel Peter; parents Jacob and Margaret Funk as well as several siblings, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Pastor Gary Burke, officiating. Interment will follow in the Coaldale Mennonite Cemetery.
