Mr. John Dick of Coaldale, beloved husband of Mrs. Margaret Dick, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at the age of 94 years.

John was born to Johann and Liese Dick on August 12, 1924, in Lichtfelde, Ukraine – the fifth of 13 children. The family immigrated to Canada when he was still a newborn and after stops in Herbert and Borden, Saskatchewan, they eventually settled on a farm near Readymade, Alberta. He would eventually buy the farm adjoining his parents.

John gave his life to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was baptized as a teenager. He became a member of the Coaldale MB Church and sought to serve his heavenly father with his life from that time forward.

On May 23, 1948, John married Margaret Funk from Ravenscrag, Sasktchewan, and were blessed with four adopted children, Robert, Iris, Daniel and Marcia.

John leaves his wife Margaret, Robert (*Magdalene Reimer) and their children Craig (Kara), Christine and Brendon (Lyndsay), Daniel (*Suzanne Fiddler), Marcia and Bradley Desrosiers and their children Jordan (Jillian) and Breanne.

John was predeceased by his daughter Iris, his parents Johann and Liese, and several siblings.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 11:00AM and 12:00PM, on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00PM, on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Pastor Gary Burke officiating.

Interment will be held at the Coaldale Mennonite Cemetery.
