January 26, 1938 - July 15, 2008

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charlie Davies of Warner, AB.

With family by his side, Charlie passed away on July 15, 2008. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Barbara of 43 years; daughter Deborah (Terry), sons Lorne (Noreen), Tim (Kathy), and Bill (Jenny); grandchildren Danielle, Deanna, Brandi, Tara, David, Charity, Amy, Crystal, Jessica, Kyle and Amy; great-grandchildren Tyson, Hazen, Jayden, Victoria, Amber Miah, Makayla and Brody; one sister Eunice (Ken) of Edmonton; and many nieces and nephews. Charlie also leaves many close relatives and friends in sadness.

Charlie was predeceased by his father Bill, mother Clysta, brother Jim, and great-grandchild Anna.

Charlie was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He was the second of 3 children born to William and Clysta Davies. Charlie attended school in Medstead, Saskatchewan until moving to Drayton Valley in 1956 at the age of 18. Charlie spent some years with the Drayton Valley Town Police force and many years as Sergeant in charge of the County of Parkland Police Detachment in Drayton Valley before moving to Warner in 1978. He owned the grocery store in Warner for a few years before taking the job of Bylaw Enforcement Officer for the County of Warner where he was employed until his retirement last year. Charlie was well known throughout the area as Bylaw Officer and also for his involvement in community projects. Charlie was a charismatic member of the community and a true friend to many people. He will be sadly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Pastor Brian Magee officiating. Following the Funeral Service a reception will be held at 1:00PM at the Elks Hall in Warner.
