MR. WILLIAM ""BILL"" DONALD CRIGHTON of Lethbridge, husband of Cathy Crighton, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the age of 76 years.

Bill was born in Lethbridge to Jim and Rene Crighton. He attended Bowman Elementary, Central and LCI schools for his formal education. In 1948, he was pulled from school to work on a fulltime basis at the family business, Alberta Meat Market. He worked along side his father, brothers, and son for over the past 60 years. Bill continued to help out at the store throughout his illness until the last two months of his life.

Bill enjoyed golfing, playing cards and trying his luck at Blackjack or the slots on many trips to Las Vegas. He was a longtime member of the Y's Men Community Service Club where he made many lasting friendships.

Besides his loving wife Cathy of almost 52 years, Bill is survived by his daughters Patricia (Barry) Emerson, Dianne (Jack) Koenen, Christine (Gary) Morris; son Ken Crighton; grandchildren Shannon, Heather and John Emerson, Eric, Danielle and Jillian Koenen; sister Miriam Smith; brother Robert Crighton; brother-in-law Bernard (Theresa) Coady; sisters-in-law June Crighton, Anne Crighton, Joan (John) Irwin and Doris (Jim) Durrell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Bill was predeceased by his parents James and Rene Crighton, his brother Ronald Crighton and his brother-in-law Robert Smith.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 23, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Reverend Larry D. Hankinson officiating.
