VIOLET PEARL COLLINS, beloved wife of the late Norman Joseph Collins, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the age of 89 years.

Violet Pearl Martin was born on February 7, 1922 in Point-aux-Gaul, Newfoundland. She met and married Norman Collins in North Sydney, Nova Scotia on October 2, 1940. Together they had 8 children.

Left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Shirley Stetar of Coaldale, Helen (Joe) McIsaac of Prince George, BC, Norma (Randy) Butterwick of Lethbridge and Jocelyn (Barney) Barnaby of Calgary, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Norman Collins, daughters Rachel Kulash, Yvonne Wohlfarth and Mary-Sharon (infant) and son William, grandson Stevie Kulash and son-in-laws Michael Stetar and Steve Kulash, as well as six sisters and three brothers.

Her love and faith in the Lord was her strength and comfort through life's trials and made her a wonderful example to her family and all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Violet's Life will take place at 1:00pm on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the SALVATION ARMY COMMUNITY CHURCH, corner of 4th avenue and 13th street south, with Major Brian Beveridge officiating. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
