LEOEN IRENE CLAYTON (nee Butler) beloved wife of the late Norman Clayton of Warner, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 2, 2009 at the age of 89 years.
Leoen was born in Sioux City, Iowa on February 22, 1919. Leoen was adopted by Fred and Clara Butler and they moved to Warner in 1927. Leoen went to Calgary in 1941 to train to be a Beauty operator at the Marvel Hair Salon. She met and married Norman in November of 1941.
She loved the Warner Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Women's League, and she also volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
Leoen will be sadly missed by her children; Duane (Pat) of St. Albert, Gordon (Kathy) of Warner, Donna of Delta, BC and Gary of Warner. Grandma will be lovingly remembered by 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, her parents Bill and Clara Butler, and her son-in-law Dave Williams of Delta, BC.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Milk River Long Term Care staff.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00PM, on Saturday, February 7, 2009, at ST. PETER'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Main St. N, Milk River, AB, with Father Joe Kalathilparambil celebrant. Interment at Warner Cemetery.
