Gordon Cameron
Official Obituary of
10/10/1920 - to - 8/2/2013
MR. GORDON MUNRO CAMERON, formerly of Picture Butte, passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the age of 92 years.
Gordon was born and raised in Moosecreek, Ontario where he worked on his parent's farm until he moved out on his own. He moved west where he worked for International Harvester for many years as well as Harry Watson Farm Supply in Picture Butte, Alberta. Gordon enjoyed travel throughout his life visiting Japan and Hawaii on a few occasions. His love for books was evident to all who knew him; he would often read more than one book at a time and enjoyed sharing all that he learned with anyone in close proximity to him. Gordon was an avid history buff and was interested in and well versed in anything from aviation to geography. He loved to garden, could fix anything and enjoyed cooking. Though he was a bachelor all of his life, he had many people who loved and will miss him.
Gordon is survived by his brother Colin Cameron, nephews, a niece and his god-daughter Angel Dick. He is predeceased by his brother Duncan Cameron, his sister Dorothy Cameron and his half-brother William Merriman.
Gordon will be remembered for his love of learning, his storytelling and his sense of humour. We would like to thank the staff of St. Therese Villa for taking such great care of Gordon during his time there. In respect of Gordon's last wishes, there will not be a service. ""A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one."" George R.R. Martin
