Mr. Vaughn Caldwell of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Irene Caldwell, father of 4 sons, grandfather of 3 grandchildren, and caring community servant, passed away at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the age of 77 years. He was surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with MDS.

     Vaughn was born in Cardston, Alberta to Lyle and Francis Caldwell (Turner) on May 31, 1945. He grew up in Cardston with 2 brothers and 6 sisters. He was very active in the community and put in countless hours as a coordinator at the Coaldale Community Food Bank from 2002 to 2022.

     Besides his loving wife Irene, he is survived by sons James (Adeline), Mitchell (Lindsay), Michael (Heather), and Clayton (Caroline); granddaughter Ally; grandsons Tyrell and Dylon; siblings Genevieve (Barton) Hessie, Gloria (Ken) Hushcroft, Sylvia Woodford (Dave), Bonnie Phillips (Terry), Louis Caldwell (Glenna).

     Vaughn was predeceased by his sisters Lila Falkhiezen and Wanda Williams (Grant); and brother David (Deeta). He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family as well as many friends and acquaintances.

     The family would like to thank all of the people that supported Vaughn through his illness and through this difficult time. He appreciated all of the visits which meant so much to him. The family would also like to thank Dr. Benke and all of the wonderful team at the Jack Ady Cancer Centre as well as Dr. Payne and Dr. Shikoor for the wonderful care he received at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre from the Palliative team.
