MICHAEL “MIKE” BRIERE

1987 – 2018

Mr. Michael “Mike” Briere of Lethbridge, beloved son of Angie Smith and Joel Briere, passed away in Lethbridge on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the age of 30 years.

Michael was born in Lethbridge on November 21, 1987. He was a fighter from the day he was born, he spent the first year of his life in the hospital with severe asthma and was later diagnosed with epilepsy. Michael was a generous and thoughtful person who loved taking care of everyone he knew. He would have given the shirt off his back for anyone and quite often, he did just that. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to play practical jokes on people. This brought great joy to his life, he was quite the prankster.

Michael is survived by his mother Angie Smith; father Joel (BJ) Briere; grandmother Helga Jacobson; sisters Heidi Reid, Trian Briere, Nikki Briere (Mark Mason); nieces and nephews Levi Sage, Alexis Briere, Ayden Briere, Ethan Burgart, Seth Gardiner, Lacey Gardiner, Isabella Pinzarrone as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Michael was predeceased by his sister Tasha Lynn Benyk; grandparents Marg and Eggert Olson, Paul and Helen Briere and Richard Caplette.

Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at the MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta with Pastor Mel Johnson, officiating. Interment will follow in the Royal View Cemetery.
