Koreshenkov Boris

Official Obituary of

23/11/1919 - to - 25/9/2008

On Thursday, September 25, 2008, BORIS KORESHENKOV, beloved husband of Nada Koreshenkov, passed away in St. Michael's Health Centre at 88 years of age with his wife and daughter at his side.

Besides, Nada, his devoted wife of 61 years, Boris is survived by his loving daughter Tania Huk and her husband Steve, his grandsons William Boris (Hedy) Huk and Nicholas John (Anna) Huk, by his great-grandchildren Victoria, Sebastian, Isobel and Matthew, and by his sister Helen Papaz. His mother Anastasia, father Marko, stepfather Anton Krivcov and brother-in-law Mike Papaz predeceased him.

Boris was born in Omsk, Russia on November 23, 1919. Shortly thereafter, his family fled to Yugoslavia where he was educated in a Russian expatriate school and earned a degree in Forestry from the University of Belgrade. In 1947, he met and married Nada Kisdobranski in Zemun, Yugoslavia. Boris and his family emigrated to Canada in 1951 via a refugee camp in Trieste. He held several and varied jobs in Lethbridge before he began his 30-year career with Beny Chev Olds. He was initially hired as a bookkeeper there, and later became a car salesman, an insurance and leasing agent, and finally a credit manager.

Boris was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed a life brimming with happy times with many friends of several different cultures and generations. He was an avid sports fan, and loved to socialize, dance and go fishing. Due to declining health over the past few years, Boris gradually lost much of his cherished independence. He did, however, maintain his clever wit, his integrity and dignity to the end of his life.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bezuidenhout and St. Michael's Health Centre for their excellent and compassionate care, the family's friends for their support and Reverend Taras Krochak for officiating at the services.

A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVEVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 29, 2008 at THE HOLY TRINITY ORTHODOX CHURCH, 634 - 13 Street North, Lethbridge, with Reverend Taras Krochak officiating.

No flowers by the family's request. Donations in Boris's memory may be made to the St. Michael's Health Centre, 1400 - 9 Ave South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4V5.
