Official Obituary of
2/8/2002 - to - 6/4/2026
Kian Christen Reyes Bautista of Fort Macleod, Alberta, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at the age of 23, with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Kian was born on August 2, 2002, in Santa Cruz, Laguna, Philippines. He spent his early years growing up in the Philippines before his father brought their family to Canada in 2017. At first, Kian did not want to leave his home and the life he knew, but over time he adjusted, grew, and built meaningful connections, creating a life filled with love, friendships, and memories in Canada.
He graduated from FP Walshe School in 2021. At the age of 18, Kian began working with his father at Bouvry Exports, marking his first job and showing his strong sense of responsibility. He also worked at A&W, where his quiet kindness and gentle nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Kian was a devoted fan of BTS and TWICE since 2016. Music brought him comfort and happiness, and it was something he loved to share with the people around him. He encouraged his family to become fans of BTS as well, happily sharing their songs, videos, and moments together. Through him, music became something that connected all of us—memories that will now forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Kian was a shy and quiet person, but once you got to know him, you truly saw how kind and genuine he was. He was strong in ways not everyone could see, carrying himself with quiet courage through life’s challenges. He will always be remembered for his kindest soul and incredible personality. Kian had a gentle heart and a generosity that showed in the little things—never forgetting special occasions, always thinking of others, and giving love without expecting anything in return.
Kian is lovingly remembered by his parents, Kristel Bautista and Christopher Bautista; his beloved sisters, Kyle Bautista and Charm Bautista; her partner, Algier Mariñas; and his brother-in-law, Andrei Palero, both of whom shared a close bond with Kian. He was a good son and a loving brother, always caring in his own gentle way. He was also a thoughtful nephew to his Kuya Keith and Ate Kissney, as well as his Kuya Ricky and Ate Mayla and a beloved grandson to his Nanay Cristy. He was also deeply loved by his many cousins, who will forever cherish his memory. He also leaves behind many family members and dear friends both in Canada and in the Philippines, including his close friends Krissa Dela Cruz, Kristel Ramos, and Alliah Ramos, who shared many memories with him and will forever cherish his memory, along with many others who will always remember him with love.
He was predeceased by his baby brother, Kavin Bautista, and his beloved grandparents, Nesty Reyes, Aurora Bautista, and Raymundo Bautista.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Martin Brothers Funeral Chapel, 610–4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.
Though his life was far too short, Kian’s love, kindness, and quiet strength left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
