Linnea (Bowen) Barnett

1921 ~ 2015

Mrs. Linnea (Bowen) Barnett of Del Bonita, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the age of 93 years.

Linnea was born on June 22, 1921 in Beresford, South Dakota, the oldest daughter of Axel and Helga Johnson. She moved to Canada in 1930 where she lived in Raley, AB until 1932. Her dad then homesteaded in the Ross Lake area and she attended school there until grade 9.

In 1943 she married Latham Bowen and in 1951 they moved to the family farm in Del Bonita.

She is survived by her five daughters Ann (Lawrence, deceased) Kanig and children Bridgette Donovan, Steven (Celia) Donovan, Derrick (Laurie) Donovan, Drew (Muriel) Donovan, Melinda (Joe) Mastel; Marlene Bowen (Ken) and child Donna (Fenton) Neufeld; Pat (Larry) Wilde and children Ryan (Amy) Wilde, Lamar (Crystal) Wilde, Lindsay (Brian) Prete, Douglas (Kris) Wilde, Duane (Jenna) Wilde; Pam (Ernie) Schellenberg and child Brandi (Harald) Doeving; Carrie (Rod) Wilson; thirty-four great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her first husband Latham Bowen, second husband Durward Barnett, brother Roy Johnson; two sisters Madeline Dunlop and Joyce Hoyt.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 St. South, Lethbridge, AB.
