MR. KENNETH DONALD ANDERSON of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Barbara Anderson, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, November 2, 2009 at the age of 73 years.
Besides his loving wife Barbara, he is survived by his children; Loretta (Shawn) Golby of Edmonton, Merlin (Kimberley)Anderson of Lethbridge, Janice (Mikko) Makela of Lethbridge, Cheryl Kiss of Lethbridge, and Deloria Many Grey Horses-Lane of San Francisco, along with his grandchildren; Brandt Anderson, Sophia Makela, Emily and Zoltan Kiss (their father Frank Kiss). He also leaves his brothers; Lloyd (Gill) Anderson of Lethbridge, Plenny (Betty) of Champion, Glenn (Pat) Anderson of Lethbridge, sisters; Doreen (Lloyd) Trapp of Lethbridge, Gladys Christensen of Vulcan, Janette (Perry) Porter of Lethbridge, and Jolayne (Doug) Lyons of Lethbridge, along with numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He also leaves to mourn his aunts; Myrtle Hofer, Lucille Leavitt, Louise McLeod, Martha Silsbe, and Sadie Anderson. He was predeceased by his parents Lydia and Clarence Anderson.
Ken was born the fifth of eight children to Lydia and Clarence on August 9, 1936 in Carmangay, Alberta, where he was raised. Ken attended school at Barrhill, and then Carmangay. In 1960, he married Barb in Milk River where they began their life together. He farmed in Milk River for 13 years, and later moved to Lethbridge in 1973. Ken began working in the feedlot industry with Valley Feeders where he continued to work for many years. He owned and operated Double K Feeders, and eventually retired from Wisemen Feeders. Ken and Barb resided in Lethbridge until the time of his passing.
In his retirement, his greatest joy was spending time with family and especially his grandchildren. He loved people, enjoyed spending time out touring machine lots (especially John Deere), farm sales, Ag-Expo and checking out the crops.
Ken was a loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Brother. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Family and friends may pay their respects prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610, 4th Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, Mr. Lorne Moore and Mr. Lloyd Haugen, officiating.
Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge, Alberta.
