MRS. LORRAINE AIELLO of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Dr. Emil Aiello, passed away suddenly after a lengthy illness on Monday, December 5, 2011 at the age of 88 years.
Lorraine was born in Brandt, AB to Phillip and Eva Bourque. After being raised in Ensign, she attended high school in Pincher Creek. It was there she first met her future husband ""Doc"". Lorraine attended Normal School in Calgary and taught for two years and later worked for A.G.T.
After the war Lorraine and Doc were reunited in Calgary and were married in 1946. They ultimately moved to Coleman in the Crows Nest Pass where they spent many happy years together and raised their family.
Lorraine continued to reside in the Pass after her husband's death. She remained very involved in the community and the church and enjoyed many happy times playing music with her friends in the CNP Symphony and the Fiddlers. Lorraine loved to travel and did so extensively. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and most of all visiting with family and friends. She loved a good joke.
Lorraine moved to Martha's House in Lethbridge in 2005 and to St. Therese's Villa in 2011.
Lorraine is survived by her sons Joe (Shelly) Robert of Calgary; daughter Denise of Lethbridge; son-in-law Murray Doenz of Warner; grandchildren Vanessa (Paulo) Strada of Switzerland, Paul Aiello of Calgary, Emilee (Steve) Candy of Vancouver, Melissa (Byron) Dovichak of Brooks, and Colin Doenz of Calgary; she was also recently blessed with 2 great-grandchildren Lauren and Garrett Dovichak. She is also survived by her dear sister Rita (Jack) Harrigan of Chicago and her brother-in-law Dr. A. Aiello of Drumheller, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. She will be missed my all.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Emil in 1970, her daughter Nadine in 1999 and her brother Claude.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Ave South, Lethbridge with Father Tim Boyle celebrant. There will be a private family graveside service in Coleman at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial donation to a charity of their choice.
