Rachel Hofer Obituary

Gently came the call…
With her her family by her side our loving Mom and Grandma gained her Heavenly Wings to rest peacefully at the age of 85 years.
Rachel was born January 21, 1937, at Wilson Colony to Paul and Maria Stahl. In 1958 she married the love of her life, Darius Hofer of the Wolf Creek Colony and later moved to East Raymond in 1996 where she resided until her passing. Along side of Dad, Mom took on the duties of serving the Colony in multiple ways. At a tender age they were appointed to be in charge of the German school and Garden where they wholeheartedly served the Lord alongside the children.  And later Mom fulfilled her daycare duties until the age of 62 years, when health issues started arising.  Mom was a quiet person and had the kindest heart, she took pride in all she did.  Mom especially loved company in the later years of her life.  Her love for The Saviour was evident until the end, she started her day with songs and praise and even when her memory started to fail, she still sang from the Heart.  The memories we made with her while taking care of her will remain in our Hearts forever.
Together Mom and Dad raised a beautiful family of 2 sons and 5 daughters whom she leaves to mourn, Edward (Lydia) and George of East Raymond, Susanna (Edward) Lajord, Rebecca (Robert) Wolf Creek, Lydia (Robert) Fords Creek, Martha (John) Rochfort, Barbara (Robert) Hines Creek, 28 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren.  Brother John (Dora) Tofield, sister Katie (Andrew) Tessier, sisters in laws, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased in death by her Husband Darius.  Parents Paul and Maria Stahl, Brothers Paul, Mike, Elias, and Peter, sisters Sarah, Susie, Maria and Elizabeth.
A Special Thanks to East Raymond Colony for all the love and support through the years that we cared for Mom, where we were treated like one of their own.
Rest in Peace Mom.  We love you.
Burial to take place at East Raymond Hutterian Church on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
