Lisa Labuhn Obituary

MRS. LISA LABUHN, beloved wife of the late Mr. Victor Labuhn, passed away peacefully at the Intercare Brentwood Care Centre in Calgary, Alberta, on February 15, 2020, at the age of 91 years.

Lisa was born on October 3, 1928 in Vardeilsen, Germany; she was raised and educated in Rengershausen, Germany. In 1944, Lisa met her future husband, Victor, when he emigrated to Germany. In 1951 the Labuhn Family immigrated to Calgary. In 1952, Lisa joined Victor, in Calgary, where they were married. In 1956, they moved to Lethbridge where Lisa resided until shortly before the time of her passing.

Lisa was a loving wife, mother, and Oma. She loved family and looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a much-loved Oma.

During the time that she and Victor built their home and acreage east of Lethbridge, Lisa was an avid gardener. She enjoyed her friends and they stayed extremely active with regular coffee and lunch visits. Lisa will be remembered, for her great smile and joyful laughter.

Lisa was a tremendous baker and cook. One of her greatest joys was to have friends and family over for a meal. Every meal started with a prayer and no one ever left hungry.

Lisa and Victor enjoyed travelling and made many trips to Hawaii. Even after Victor’s passing, she continued to enjoy bus trips with friends and travelling with family.

Lisa took great joy in attending Church and the fellowship of her Bible study group. At her Condo complex she never missed the garage parties.

Lisa is survived by her brother, Dietmar (Ingrid) Heise of  Rengershausen, Germany; her daughter, Karin (Tom) Seaman, of Airdrie; her sons, Harvey Labuhn (Jocelyn Dimm) of Lethbridge, Roland Labuhn (Dina Radinskaia) of Calgary; four grandchildren, Lisa (Adam) Zandvliet of Airdrie, Michael Seaman (Lindsey Sales),  Kyle Labuhn and Jake Labuhn of Calgary; four great grandchildren, Julia, Thomas, Brady and Mila; two sisters-in-law, Hilda Harwardt of Victoria, and Ilse Labuhn of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Lisa was predeceased by her parents, Willi and Hilde Heise; infant daughter, Rita; brother Hilmar; sister Edith; and daughter in law Susan.
