Isolda Vaselenak Obituary

Mrs. Isolda Vaselenak, of Coaldale, beloved wife of the late Albert Vaselenak, passed away peacefully in the Coaldale Long Term Care Facility, with family at her side, on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the age of 91 years.
She spent her last few months at the Facility and was very grateful to be able to reside in her home on the farm before then, which she deeply loved.  It was the commitment and caring of her sons Wilfred and Darrell who made this possible.
Isolda is survived by her sons: Wilfred and his sons, Travis and Scott; Darrell (Kelly) and their sons, Dustin and Blake; Gerald; Sisters-in-law, Irene Hazuda and Helen Vaselenak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Isolda was predeceased by her husband Albert; parents Ludwig and Eva Droschinski; brothers Herbert and Arthur; and numerous relatives and friends.
Isolda was born on December 25, 1928 in Poland.  Her parents came from a German background and she was raised with a German heritage. She and her family immigrated from Germany to Canada in 1952 and settled in the Coaldale area.  Isolda met and married Albert on May 27, 1954, and together they lived and raised their family in rural Coaldale. Her greatest joy in life was her family to which she had an incredible commitment. She was a caring and compassionate grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her grandsons. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and singing. She loved to sing! She had a strong faith in God and her courage, wisdom, and sense of humour will live on in our hearts forever.

A Private Family service will be held with burial in the Mountain View Cemetery.

Flowers or a memorial donation in Isolda’s name may be made to the Coaldale Long Term Care Facility, 2100 11th St, Coaldale, AB T1M 1L2.
