Official Obituary of

18/5/1950 - to - 18/3/2022

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me,

though he may die, he shall live. - John 11:25

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband and father Hank Vanee. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on March 18, 2022, at the age of 71 years.

A kind and loving husband, father and grandfather, Hank leaves behind his wife Marianne, daughter Wendy (TJ), son Mike (Amber), daughter Vanessa, grandchildren Alisha, Kacee, Cohen, and Millie.

He was predeceased by his parents Reyer and Fennetje Vanee, his brothers Joe (Anne), John, Tony, sister Wilma and brothers in-law Maas Van Driesten, Dirk Beekman and Bill Van Driesten. He is survived by his siblings Riek Van Driesten, Dini Vanee (sister-in-law), Matty Vanee (sister-in-law), Janet Vanee, Harry (Lorriane) Vanee, Greta Beekman, Eddie (Gwen) Vanee, Jeanette (Dick) Pols, Rita (Rick) Olson, and Jim (Wendy) Vanee.

Born May 18th, 1950, in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Hank grew up in a large family and eventually settled in Lethbridge. He worked as a New Holland dealer for over 30 years. He deeply valued the lifelong friendships he cultivated with many of his employees and customers over the years. Being a part of the Southern Alberta farming community, the part he loved the most, despite protests from parents, was surprising the children who came to the dealership by giving them a New Holland toy tractor or harvester.

Hank loved to travel and gladly traded in his slippers and sweaters to escape the southern Alberta wind for milder climates like Hawaii. He loved the warm weather and anytime the wind stopped he could be found tending to his perfectly manicured lawn.

His family meant the world to him, and he was forever proud of his children and grandchildren. From taking them for ice-cream to driving them to hockey, Grandpa made sure that each one had every opportunity available to them and he was exceedingly generous and supportive of them all.

Anyone who knew Hank was touched by his kindness, quiet generosity, and mild temperament. He was a friend to all and was always available to listen and give a positive word of encouragement or wisdom.

Hank will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at BETHEL REFORMED CHURCH, AB-3A, Monarch, with Pastor Jan Neels officiating. A private family Interment will be held at the Royal View Cemetery.

Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Word and Deed Ministries, 39993 Talbot Line, St Thomas, ON N5P 3T2
