Hendrik "Hank"

Hendrik "Hank" Sikking

Official Obituary of

7/7/1957 - to - 29/12/2021

Mr. Hank Sikking of Lethbridge Alberta, passed away after a short battle with cancer surrounded by family at Chinook Regional Hospital on December 29, 2021.

Hank was born in Holland on July 7, 1957.  At the age of six months Hank boarded a boat to Canada with his parents. They arrived on the east coast of Canada and then had a train ride west to Calgary. Shortly after arriving in Calgary, they headed south to Lethbridge where he spent the rest of his life.

Hank loved the outdoors and learned early on the joy of camping and fishing with his family. This led to a lifetime of many great camping trips with the many friends he made through the years. He also enjoyed golfing, skiing, quadding and listening to music. Hank graduated high school and then earned his Journeyman Plumbing Certificate. After a few years of plumbing, he decided to go back to school and earned a Business Administration Diploma. Hank then worked his way up to be the Manager of Thunderbird. Hank’s proudest moments were the birth of his two children, Christopher 26 and Sydney 22. Thunderbird closed and Hank then joined Old Dutch Foods in 2001 where he made many friendships over the years with all of his clients as "The Old Dutch Guy". Hank was a kind, hardworking man who was passionate about family and always put others needs in front of his own. A calm loving man who could put a smile on anyone’s face.

Hank is survived by his children Christopher Sikking and Sydney Sikking (Kagan). His brother's John Sikking (Sharon) of Okotoks, Leonard Sikking (Melanie) of Hamilton, Ontario and sister Joyce Stoperski of Lethbridge. Proud uncle to Nicole Sikking (Jesse), Amanda (Andy) Reykdal, Breonna (Benjamin) Steinman, Alexis (Brett) Thompson, Sean Sikking, Madison Sikking (Donovan), Clayton Stoperski (Gina), Emily Maciejko. Great-uncle to Layson Hurst, Aspyn Stoperski, Ashir Steinman, and Mia Reykdal. Hank was predeceased by his parents Willem and Johanna Sikking.
