Mr. Edward “Ed” Randa of Lethbridge, beloved brother and uncle, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the age of 68 years.

Eddie was born September 30, 1955, in Lethbridge, Alberta. He completed 12 years of education at Coalhurst high school. While attending school, he worked the summer months hoeing sugar beets. He then attended Lethbridge Community College and received a Diploma in Meat Technology and became a butcher, working in several shops around Southern Alberta including Burns Meat, Lilydale and Con Van Burren’s and a few others. Eddie returned in 2012 and spent his days with his brother Robbie. Ed and Robbie lived with their mom Annie and cared for her until the day she passed. Sadly, he became ill 6 weeks ago and passed away suddenly but peacefully at the hospital.

Eddie is survived by his best friend and brother Robbie, as well as brothers William, Albert, John, Jim, Mike and Richard; sisters Albina, Anne, Irene and Mary, as well as many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his niece Shelley for taking such good care of him over the years, and especially the last 6 weeks.

He was predeceased by his parents Annie and Izidor Randa, and his brother Jerry.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00 pm, on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610, 4 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604, 13 STREET NORTH, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Father Kevin Tumback, celebrant.

Interment will follow at Royal View Cemetery.
