In loving memory of Katharina Klassen, born in Rosental, Ukraine to Justina and Dietrich Klassen, peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday June 22/2021 in Coaldale, Alberta at the age of 90 years.

Katharina spent her childhood years in Rosental. Her Dad was sent to Siberia in 1936 where he died in 1938. Due to World War 2, she along with her mother and 2 sisters fled, first to Germany then to Paraguay, South America in 1948. In 1955 Katie immigrated to Canada along with her mother and settled in Coaldale where she resided until her passing at the Sunny South Lodge.

 Her parents and 2 sisters, Maria Giesbrecht and Wanda Neustaeder predeceased her. She is survived by Children of her sister Maria Giesbrecht, Helmut Giesbrecht(Barbara), Gary Giesbrecht(Theresa), Annemarie Morton(Larry), Helene Parker(Russell)and Cory Giesbrecht(Shirley)and their families. She will be also be missed by her step-sister Margaret Giesbrecht, 2 step brothers, Henry Dyck and Goerge Dyck (Giesela) and their families.

Katie spent a few years working for the Coaldale hospital, however, most of her career she worked for the Lethbridge Laundry. Since Katie didn’t drive, she would arrange rides to work with people that commuted to Lethbridge for work.

She moved into sunny south villas at the age of 55 and once she needed more care moved cross the street to the lodge where she lived until her passing.

Katie loved the Lord and took comfort in knowing that one day she would join her parents in Heaven. Now Katie is free from the cares of this world , rejoicing in Heaven with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
