Thomas "Tom" Amatto Obituary

Mr. Tom Amatto of Lethbridge passed away suddenly in Lethbridge on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020 at the age of 57 years.

Tom was born in Nelson, B.C. and his heart was always in the Kootenay’s, even though he lived in Alberta for many years.

For many years Tom was a very talented Auto Body Mechanic and painter, and he loved to restore and deck out classic cars. He was thrilled when he opened his own shop in Kaslo, B.C, called Mel n Joes modefatorium, which was always a dream for him.

Tom’s humour was sharp and quick witted, and he loved to share this with all his friends and family. Football and sports were a passion for Tom, and you could always catch him in front of a game. He was most proud of his daughter and his grandchildren, and he loved to visit them whenever he could.

Tom is survived by his Daughter, Jaime (Greg) Bratland of Okotoks, AB and their children Jack and Georgia; his sister,  and Geri (Glen) Pottinger of Lethbridge and their son Josh.

Tom was predeceased by his parent’s Mel and Joe Amatto.

Tom will be greatly missed by numerous friends, as he was always so good to stay in touch with so many.

A “Celebration of Life” will take place at #104 Foxhollow Bay, Lethbridge County between 1:00 and 3:00p.m.on Saturday June 20th;  a day affectionately known as “Tom’s Day” by his family.

Interment will take place at a later date this summer in the family plot, in the cemetery in Nelson, B.C.
