Ronald Parton Obituary

Mr. Ronald “Ron” Parton of Lethbridge, Beloved husband to the late Shari Parton passed away at Cedar Creek Adaptacare in Lethbridge on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at the age of 82.

Ronald was born on December 28, 1937 to Burton & Mable Parton in Limon Colorado. He graduated from New Plymouth high school in 1956.  He later went on to graduate from Idaho State University for his undergraduate degree.   He then obtained his PHD in Sociology from the University of Idaho. He was a professor in the United States for many years before taking a position at the University of Lethbridge.  He was loved by his students as a kind, caring and compassionate instructor. He was well known for helping recovering alcoholics which he took great satisfaction in. Ron was known to be there for his friends and family and for his generous heart.  Ronald was predeceased by his wife Shari. Ronald and his beloved wife Shari married In August 27, 1961 in Pocatello, Idaho. Together they had four children which were their pride and joy.

Ronald was survived by his son Jeff Parton & grandson Ty of Mercer Island, Washington; daughter Jenni Parton & grandson Calvin of Lethbridge; daughter Julie (Brent) Woods & grandchildren Tessa, Ryan and Levi of Lethbridge; daughter Jennifer Needham & Grandchildren Seth, Cody and Shelby of Lethbridge; sister Evelyn (Delmar) Skeen of  New Plymouth Idaho; sister Linda (Don) Dunn of Albany Oregon.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Shari Parton; parents Burton and Mable Parton; brother Bernie Parton; sister Barbra Woodward as well as his granddaughter Katelyn Needham.

A Celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date.
