Owen Beringer of Coaldale, beloved husband of the late Deborah Beringer, passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, with family by his side at the young age of 66.
Owen was born in Vulcan on October 21, 1956. He and Deborah purchased their home in Coaldale in 1984 where they raised their 5 children. Owen resided in the family home until his passing. One of Owen’s passions was demolition derbies, and his car was #59 (he was a derby legend). He loved cars and “wrecking junk” as he would say. Above all, he loved his family. Dad was well loved and respected by his family and friends and will be missed by all that knew him.
Owen is survived by his sisters Debbie McColman and Wendy Beringer; brother Barry Beringer and his children, Christina Beringer (Dallas McLean) and their 5 children, Shantel Beringer (Steve Johnson) and their 5 children, Brandy (Bill) Damen and their 2 sons, Shannon Beringer and her 5 children, and son Dale (Trina) Beringer and their 3 children, along with 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Owen was predeceased by his wife Debbie Beringer; his father Benjamin Beringer and mother Blanche Lafferty (Beringer); brother Robert Lafferty; grandson Dallas Jr. McLean; and great grandson Christopher Garinger.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610, 4 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Glenda Wert, officiating. All guests are welcome to bring their hot rods and old cars.
Family and friends are welcome to gather at KC’s Pub in Coaldale following the service.
