Joan Moore

Joan Eleanore Moore passed away with her family by her side on August 26, 2023, at the age of 93 years.

Joan was born July 15, 1930, in Commerce, Alberta and grew up on the family farm by Shaughnessy and attended Plain Butte school. She worked with her husband Jack in managing Moore’s Esso in Lethbridge for 38 years, retiring in 1991. An avid golfer, Joan was a long-time member of the Lethbridge Country Club, Lethbridge Ladies City Champion from 1989-1991, a member of the Alberta Senior ladies golf team in 1998. Joan officiated for many years at track and field events including the 1978 Commonwealth Games. She also enjoyed bowling, kayaking, skiing and camping with her family, who meant the world to her.

Joan is survived by her daughter Pam (Lloyd) MacNaughton of Lethbridge; sons Randy (Lorna) Moore of Rocky Mountain House and Chuck (Dawn) Moore of Kelowna; grandchildren Shanda (Jay), Janay (Shawne), Candice (Rob), Stephanie, Jared, Katlin (Matt), Brett (Linda), Montana, Makena (Calvin); great grandchildren, Taylor, Payton, Addison, Gina (Brett), Brant, Finley, Kaia, and Luka. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Jean Jensen, and brother-in-law, John Kundrik, both of Lethbridge, sister-in-law, Phyllis Jensen of Sturgeon County and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joan was predeceased by her loving husband Jack of 59 years; granddaughter Krista Moore; mother and father, Marie and Peter Jensen; sisters, Doris Colpitts, Betty Kundrik; and brothers, Harold Jensen and Roy Jensen, and brother-in-law, Earl Colpitts.

We will remember Joan as a caring mother devoted to her family, an amazing Grandma, and Great Grandma (Nana)!

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610, 4 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Reverend Trevor Potter, officiating. A private family Inurnment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery.
