It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Gerald William Todd of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Norma Todd, at Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the age of 90 years.
Gerald was born and raised at his family’s homestead in the Nobleford area. Growing up he attended school in the town of Nobleford, where he and his family later moved to in 1945 where he went to work for Noble Cultivators. In 1955, he moved into Lethbridge and went to work for Trans Canada Freezer (now called Versa Cold). He started out sweeping floors and cleaning equipment and with his hard work, he moved on to become Manager of the Lethbridge Plant. He also managed 4 other plants in Alberta and Saskatchewan. He retired in 2004, bought a motor home and with his loving wife Norma, they set out on some fantastic journeys.
He loved fishing, camping, tequila and travelling to the US. They found a beautiful spot at Lake Koocanusa, spent all their summers there and winters in various areas of the US.
Besides his loving wife Norma, Gerald is survived by his son Scott (Kathy) Brown; daughter Cheryl (Wade) Brown; grandchildren Hayley Todd, Cody Brown, Dylan Brown, Eric Brown, Candace Brown, Ashley Brown, Tyler Boe; sisters-in-law Madge Brotherwood, Anna (Dave) Williams, Trena Brotherwood; brother-in-law Herb (Heather) Brotherwood as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.
Gerald was predeceased by his parents William and Mae Todd; son Bill Todd and brother-in-law Ernie Brotherwood.
A Celebration of Gerald’s Life will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Country Kitchen Catering, 1715, MAYOR MAGRATH DRIVE SOUTH, Lethbridge, Alberta.
