Mrs. Eileen Watt of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. James “Jim” Watt, passed away at Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the age of 99 years and was welcomed into heaven.
Eileen was born December 7, 1920 in the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge, Alberta to Reginald and Rosina Osmond.
Mom was raised on the Dairy Farm east of the Lethbridge jail. Living on the farm, Mom said there was lots to do, she loved the farm and animals. Mom went to McLean School and was quite active in sports.
Mom met the love of her life James on the farm where he worked for her Dad. James and Eileen were married in January 1945. They lived on the farm for a few years and then moved into town where James worked as a guard at the Lethbridge Jail. James passed away in 1951, so Mom moved back to the farm with her children Ronald, Thomas and one on the way, where she looked after her mother and raised her three children. Mom loved her flowers and was always putting in flower beds along with her Mother.
Besides her loving husband James, Eileen was pre-deceased by her parents Reginald and Rosina; brothers Roland and Harold Osmond; sister-in-law Yvonne Osmond and her grandson David John Watt.
She is survived by her children Ronald (Wendy), Thomas (Brenda), Helen (Dennis) Jones; grandchildren Kevin Watt, Charles (Lori), Brendan (Jesse) Watt, James Jones, Lisa (Andrew) Foster; great-grandchildren Gregory and Rachel Watt, Eli and Zoe Foster, Ryker Jones, Kelti Haitel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Family and Friends are invited to pay their respects between 1:00pm and 2:00pm on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Canon James Robinson, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
