It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Bidwell Boyd Tucker, who passed away on February 10, 2020 at the age of 89 years.
Boyd was born in Punnichy, Saskatchewan and attended the University of Saskatchewan where he studied Pharmacy. Boyd moved to Lethbridge, Alberta in 1961 and opened Boyd’s Pharmacy which he operated for 25 years. Boyd was a true entrepreneur at heart and also invested in, and ran, numerous other business ventures. Boyd believed in hard work, respect and gratitude which was obvious in all his interactions with colleagues, customers, friends and family. He was very athletic and pushed himself to perform at every sport he enjoyed. He loved skiing, golf and curling and he excelled at all of those. Boyd was a very avid Bridge player and an active member of many local organizations. He was curious at heart which led to a great deal of travel with his wife, Shirley, the last adventure of which was Hong Kong and mainland China.
Boyd loved his family deeply and was tremendously proud of all their accomplishments.
Boyd will be lovingly remembered by his wife and partner of 59 years, Shirley Ann Tucker (née Wagness), and his children Dr. Trent Tucker, Brad Tucker and Dana Tucker and her husband Jack Tavares. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Callahan Tucker, Grayson Tucker and Zia Tucker; his surviving sister Elaine Tucker; sister-in-law Jean Schmitt (née Wagness) and her husband Ray Schmitt, and his numerous nieces and nephews.
Boyd was given the gift of life and has now bravely given it back, so that those who loved him can honor the man that he was and the joy he brought to all of us.
